Folio 343r: The Sixth "Joust of the Rooks": Bizhan versus Ruyin
In the sixth joust Bizhan, Giv's son, takes on Ruyin, son of Piran. When arrows make no dent in the armor of either soldier, Bizhan steers his horse alongside Ruyin and crashes his mace down on his foe's head. Ruyin remains in his saddle at first but soon falls, his skull smashed to bits.
Folio 343v: The Seventh "Joust of the Rooks": Hajir versus Sipahram
The seventh champion, Hajir, another son of Gudarz, is pitted against Sipahram, a famous Turanian paladin. They draw their swords and battle furiously until Hajir strikes Sipahram's head and he breathes his last. Once again a banner is fixed on the Iranian mound.
