Luster Jar with Hares (?) and Inscribed Words
This luster jar displays a combination of elements typical of tenth-century Iraqi luster ceramics. The epigraphic elements on the lower part of the object evoke auspicious writing. The stylized and ambiguous animals (hares?) and the five little "handles" have no practical use but to adorn the piece and impart a sense of liveliness and decoration to the jar.
