Bottle with Twisted Ribbing

10th–11th century
Not on view
This small green bottle was created in a mold. The vertical ribs were twisted counterclockwise by the glassmaker outside the mold to create the final ridged decoration - thirty ridged vertical ribs from the base to the shoulder. The dating and place of provenance are confirmed by archaeological evidence gathered in Central Asia.
