Lamp
This whale oil lamp forms a pair with 1976.342.1. It is pressed in the cable pattern, which commemorates the laying of the Atlantic Cable in the 1860s. The cable pattern is rare on lamps. A knobbed finial surmounts the domed top of the reservoir. The glass arm and font are topped by original metal fittings. This particular type of lamp construction appears to be unique to this pair.
