Stela of Djemi

The sole companion, the general and chief of the mercenaries, Djemi who says:

I acted as general in this town. I did what what the great wanted and the humble favored. As for any troop-commander against whom I went down, I have come (back) successfully from it because of the goodness of my command and the excellence of my plans. I went down against Abydos which was under the Rebel. I caused him to go down to his realm from the heart of the city, whereas nobody else had the power to go forth against him. I taxed the people of Lower Nubia for any chief who happened to be in that area. I brought taxes from Tawer and I was praised for it. I furnished the house of my father and filled it with riches. I made a boat of 50 cubits. I gave bread to the hungry and clothing to the naked. I have gone forth and descended in my tomb. Made by his eldest son, his beloved Hi...for him
