Pair Statue of Amenemhat and Ahmose-Baketamun
New Kingdom
This pair statue depicts a man named Amenemhat and his wife, Baketamun. The deities invoked in the inscription are all from the region of Aswan: Khnum, god of the first cataract; Anuket, goddess of the southern end of the cataract; and Satis, Mistress of Elephantine and daughter of Khnum. This suggests Amenemhat was from Aswan, at the southern border of Egypt.
