Cup Plate
This pink and white transfer-printed earthenware cup plate made by the Staffordshire firm of William Adams & Sons features a view of a Scottish huntsman from a small series of at least three views commonly known as "Caledonia." Caledonia was the Roman name for Northern Britain and also refers to the part of Scotland that lies north of the firths of Clyde and Forth.
