Dish with a Child Chasing a Fish

18th–19th century
Not on view
It seems likely that, in addition to its playful quality, the theme of a child catching a fish, presumably a carp, also had overtones of good wishes. It remains unclear as to whether this dish had a function or served as an object for display.
