Vase stand with rams’ heads and carved neoclassical decoration
Seventeenth and eighteenth century prints and drawings indicate that Asian vases and monumental fish bowls were placed on such gilt wood brackets as parade display objects. Especially important monumental Asian porcelain vases were shown on ornate stand like the present example.
