Mary, Queen of Scots (?)

After (?) Federico Zuccaro (Zuccari) Italian
possibly Mary, Queen of Scots Scottish

Not on view

Mezzotint print after the Carlton portrait, previously attributed to Federico Zuccaro. The portrait is no longer believed to depict Mary, Queen of Scots, although the woman in the Carlton painting has not yet been identified. The print has been trimmed and lacks the bottom inscription: "Drawn from the Original Painting of Frederick Zuccharo in the Collection of the Earl of Burlington."

Mary, Queen of Scots (?), After (?) Federico Zuccaro (Zuccari) (Italian, Sant'Angelo in Vado 1540/42–1609 Ancona), Mezzotint; first state of three (O'Donoghue)
