Not on view
A small girl, draws her cloak around her and stands next to a stone wall next to an open wooden door or gate. She has laid her basket on the ground and seems reluctant to enter. Based on a painting exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1831, the print portrays Lady Rachel Russell, daughter of William Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford and his second wife Georgiana Gordon. The size of the print suggests that it was made as a book illustration, probably American since the engraver, Archibald Dick emigrated to New York from Scotland and was active between 1830-55.
