Rectangular sheet of paper with a textile design from a group, dated 1840, made in Mulhouse, Alsace which was an important nineteenth-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. The design is made up of alternating vertical rows of ovals bordered with pearls and vertical garlands of honeycomb structures flanked with offsetting branches and decorated with pearls over a light tan base with of dark reddish-brown stipples. The ovals are of red color and the pearls are of white color, some of them adorned with a black dot in the center.
