Maharaja Baghji (r. 1710–34) is depicted seated in a palace interior surrounded by courtiers and musicians and accompanied by his infant son, who is playing with an array of toys. The painting is especially rich in its depiction of everyday yet luxurious objects, textiles,
and carpets.
