Ornamental designs with thin bundles of stylized flowers and leaves and semi-abstract patterns for textiles
Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains several ornamental designs made up of thin bundles with stylized flowers and leaves of different types and designs for textiles (?), presented in small rectangles to emulate swatches of fabric, with semi-abstract motifs: undulating ribbons with black dots and scrolling branches with leaves on a stippled ground, short branches over a clear ground with glitched lines and stipples, a network of clear bubbles outlined with white over a stippled ground with clear ovals, and undulating, black ribbons over a clear ground with white stipples. These ornamental motifs would have likely been used for textiles, wallpapers, and other designs.
