Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains six ornamental designs with scrolling motifs and strapwork. On the center of the page is a vase with four pearls, flanked above by scrolling branches, makin up a palmette motif, with pearls and alternating spades and rosettes on the ends. Above it are two designs ade made up of vertical centers with offsetting, scrolling branches on the sides; the first contains four-petal rosettes on the ends of the scrolls, and small pearls on the body, and the other contains stylized leaves on the ends of the scrolls, and small pearls and shuttle shapes on the body. Below them are two motifs with scrolling strapwork and semi-abstract fleurs de lis, decorated with pearls, and a five-leaf clover with a large pearl flanked by three smaller pearls, and the leaves decorated with small teardrops, trefoils, and a rosette. The designs are executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper.
