Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains a design for a shawl with a large paisley leaf made up of bundles of semi-abstract exotic flowers and leaves, and surrounded by interlacing branches with semi-abstract exotic flowers and leaves of the same kind, executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper. The motifs in the design seem to have been inspired on Indian calicoes and were most likely intended for printed textiles or wallpapers, and were possibly manufactured with vivid colors.
