The image refers to the coronation of William IV. Three wind-swept ladies and a gentleman walk through heavy rain, the last stooping to adjust her slipper and holding the arm of a man with a wrecked umbrella. The other ladies hold tattered parasols. Lining the street are spectators holding umbrellas, and a viewing stand behind with a poster lettered "Long May He Rain".
