Shoes
Slippers with undersoles revealed at the upturn of their "Turkish" toes are still the traditional footwear in much of the Muslim world. The woven straw shoe, shown above center, probably from Serbo-Croatia, reflects either the persistence of the medieval poulaine or more likely, the influence of the Ottoman Turks.
