Oval basin with lizards, moths, and blue and purple background
Georges Pull French
Not on view
Based in Paris, Georges Pull was among the most talented practitioners of Bernard Palissy’s rustique figulines, a technique developed by the Renaissance potter that featured reptiles and other creatures embedded in a pond-like basin. Pull’s piece features a brilliant blue and purple glaze. The striking jewel tones contrast with the verdant colors of the lizard, snake, and leaves.
