Krishna, playing his flute, stands top a lotus flower within the sacred syllable Om. Krishna is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. He is considered to be the eighth avatar of Vishnu and is a central character in the Mahabharata and the Bhagavata Purana.
