Series of Cartouche Designs
These prints are part of a series of 24 cartouches and wall decorations by Agostino Mitelli, first published by Agostino Parisini in Bologna in 1636. The title page indicates that they stem from a later edition, published by Giovanni Giacomo de' Rossi in Rome. The prints are pasted into an album with other designs by Mitelli and his contemporaries. While the full series is present in the album, they are not pasted in on consecutive pages.
