These prints are part of a series of designs for cartouches and coats of arms designed and etched by Agostino Mitelli who signed the title plate "Agostino Mitelli Inven. F.". The series further contains a dedication page written by Giuseppe Longhi and dedicated to count Francesco Carlo Caprara. A second edition of this dedication page has also been inserted, which carries the publisher's information of Giovanni Giacomo de' Rossi. It is followed by 11 plates of cartouche designs, some presented vertically and others horizontally. In the latter case, two prints have been pasted onto one album page.
