Design for a Cap with Moresque Decorations
According to its inscription, this print shows half of a pattern for a round cap, decorated with moresque ornaments. The style of execution follows a group of prints with moresque patterns that are generally attributed to a Venetian printmaker referred to as "Master F". These prints date from the 1520s and 1530s. It is likely that Vico created this print in the early phase of his career when he frequently engaged with ornament subjects.
