Design for a trade card for an ornamental sculptor

1762
Not on view
Long before Saint-Aubin designed his famous trade card for Périer, he produced advertisements for other artisans and businesses.

Here, in what appears to be an unexecuted design for a tradecard, a tablet bearing a partially legible name and address leans against a vase. The profession given—sculptor—must refer in this case to a metal modeler of decorative objects.
