Not on view
The finely marbled pages with bold naskhi style text contain verses from the Kitab i Nauras, a book of musical compositions. It is attributed to Ibrahim Adil Shah II (1579-1626), ruler of Bijapur in the Deccan. The songs speak of Ibrahim's love for his elephant Atash Khan, his musical instrument Moti Khan, and the refined courtly culture that surrounded him.
