Vase
Teco was the name of the Art Pottery produced by the Gates Potteries, a subsidiary of the American Terra Cotta and Ceramic Company. This vase was designed by Chicago architect William J. Dodd and was illustrated in the Teco Art Pottery catalogue published in 1904, with a list price of $7.00. Its decoration of stylized leaves and its "Teco Green" mat glaze reflect the strong influence of nature in American Art Pottery. For other examples of Gates Pottery, see 1973.169, 1978.507 and 1982.188.
