Figures dancing (Embotadas de las seguidilas boleras)

ca. 1790
Not on view
Series of popular prints created in Spain during the eighteenth century were often of high quality, of which this is an example. It is one of a series of six prints that depict different Spanish dances. Set outdoors, the participants are elegantly dressed in the latest fashions and presented clearly to the viewer. The attention to the accuracy of their dress and the specificity of their movements would have appealed to an audience familiar with the social significance of these elements.
