Scenic wallpaper was the height of fashionability in mid-nineteenth century America. These four medallion wallpaper panels feature monuments in the city of Paris, France (see Inst.1983.1.2-4). The monuments depicted are "L'Obelisque de Luxor," "La Tour Saint-Jacques," "La Porte Saint-Denis," "L'Eglise Saint-Sulpice"
