«Following the first Met edit-a-thon in May 2017, the Museum is excited to work with Wikipedia on the Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon at The Met this Sunday to develop new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art-making traditions.»

Join us at The Met Fifth Avenue for a day of collaborative workshops about art resources on Wikipedia and to participate in a community effort to improve articles on Asian art and culture as a part of Wikipedia Asian Month 2017.

When: Sunday, November 19, from 10:30 am to 4 pm

Where: Bonnie J. Sacerdote Lecture Hall in the Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance)

Please check in with Museum staff when you arrive. Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords.

Wikipedia articles can be illustrated with thousands of recently released images of artworks in the public domain, all of which were made available for free through The Met's Open Access program. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse collection of Asian works of art and to better represent the Museum's collection on Wikipedia.

You can sign up for the event and share it with your friends on Facebook.
