In der zweiten Hälfte des ersten Jts. n. Chr. herrschten die in der Ayacucho-Region von Peru ansässigen Wari über die südzentralen Anden. Der kulturelle Einfluss der Wari war besonders in den südlichen Tälern an der Pazifikküste stark, wo wohl viele schöne, gut erhaltene und farbenprächtige Textilien und Keramiken herstammen. Diese hübsche Flasche ist am Hals mit einem modellierten Katzenkopf verziert. Sie kombiniert Elemente der Keramiktradition – wie die prächtigen Farben und die gut gebrannte Oberfläche – die in Nasca und den Nachbartälern jahrhundertelang blühte.
