ペルーのアヤクチョ地域を拠点としたワリ族は、6–10 世紀までアンデス地域の中南部で権勢を振るいました。ワリ族の文化的影響は特に太平洋南岸の峡谷において強く、保存状態が良く、彩色豊かな見事な織物と陶器の多くが、この地域で出土したと考えられています。この魅力的な瓶は、首の部分が猫の頭部をかたどっています。ワリ族の図像と、ナスカ近辺の峡谷に何世紀も栄えた陶器の伝統である豊かな色彩と磨きこまれた表面を組み合わせた作品です。
