Plate 6 of a series of designs for mantelpieces, paneling and doors. This plate shows wall with an alcove and two doors. At the center is the alcove with pillows. On either side is wall paneling including oval frames, mascarons and diapered spandrels. The doors are decorated with strapwork and the overdoors with scrolling foliage. The frieze at the top of the wall is also decorated with strapwork, palmettes and mascarons.
