Tobacco box

The box is shaped like a book. Its cover shows a couple seated outside their house, within a hexagonal frame. Flowers are depicted in the corners. Inscribed below is: Goet begin (Good beginning).
The underside is similarly engraved, the scene now reversed, and is inscribed: Goet bekage (Good end). This box would have been an appropriate gift for a newly married couple.
With lined rims.
