Woodland scene of bird-snaring

ca. 1725
On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 533
The sudden appearance of elegant, single glass beakers in the eighteenth century may be explained by the custom of drinking water with a draft of thick, sweet, hot chocolate.
