This work of art is currently on loan to the museum.This is one of numerous copies after Chaudet's bust, which became Napoleon's widely disseminated official portrait. Franzoni was a sculptor in Carrara, where Napoleon's sister Elisa, Princess of Piombino and Lucca, controlled production. See 55.199 for a copy after one of these Carrarra copies.
