Terracotta Hadra hydria (water jar)
The inscription on this vase states that it contained the cremated bones of a certain Timasitheos of Rhodes, a dignitary who died on an offical visit to Alexandria. The date of his death is precisely recorded as 19 May 213 B.C., using both the Macedonian and the Egyptian calendars.
