Attributed to the Milazzo Painter

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 171

Four friezes with animals

Olpai were greatly favored by Corinthian artists, particularly during the last three decades of the seventh century. The decoration consists almost exclusively of animal friezes; there are virtually no examples with narrative figural subjects.
