The publication contains 100 woodcuts by Posada from different points in his career. Each small image is printed against a coloured background on a sheet of buff paper that is numbered in the top right corner and accompanied by a verse in Spanish in the lower part relating to what is depicted. The folios are loose and housed in a folder of the same size, the cover of which carries the title in Spanish and English and publication details. This information is repeated on the first loose folio that is followed by a brief description in Spanish of its contents written by the publisher followed by the same in English. This is followed by a photograph of Posada, another of his original publisher, Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, an introduction by Jean Charlot in Spanish and English. There is also a separate pamphlet containing a Foreword by Charlot, an Introduction by W. S. Stallings, jr., a Bibliography relating to Posada and translations of the verses that accompany the plates (all in English).
