We here are shown an exhibition devoted to the culture of Lapland held in London's Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly in 1822. The display centered on a family--Karina, her husband Jennes, and their five year old son, seen here near a dwelling of furs draped over poles, with a herd of reindeer in a pen behind, and clothes and weapons hanging on a wall, before a landscape. A border surrounding the image includes a sleigh, knife, tobacco pouch, costume elements, implements and tools, as well as smaller scenes showing a sleigh pulled by a reindeer, and a European couple in a carriage drawn by a reindeer along the Thames near St. Paul's Cathedral.
