The image consists of a frame, filled with figures in 16th-century costumes and the double-headed eagle of the German Empire at the top. Below, the figure of a wild man blowing a horn forms the leader for a troupe of fantasy figures. In the center of the frame, a scene is depicted with a group of noblemen and members of the Order of the Golden Fleece presenting a shield to the artist Albrecht Dürer.
