Plaque with the Crucifixion

15th century
On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 544
The name given to this master, Monvaerni, is actually a misinterpretation of an inscription—once thought to be the signature of the enameler—on an triptych of the Crucifixion between wings depicting Saint James and Saint Catherine, now in the Cincinnati Art Museum.
