This work is a concise summary of the figural group in the important composition that Picasso was developing in August 1906 just as he left the town of Gósol in the Spanish Pyrenees. It shows a blind flower seller led by a girl. In the final painting (Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia) they accompany two oxen.
