Technical description:

Stained boxwood with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Blackwood mouthpiece grooved for cord. Reed cut down to fit the mouthpiece with label "French-American / POPULAIRE / TRADE MARK" and on back "Populaire" / No. 4 MED.[IUM] HARD". Curved speaker with chimney on front of the instrument. End-pivoted F3/C5 hinge-key. Big finger holes. Guidance pin for F♯3/C♯5 lever.

Keymount type: screwed in pillars

Inscribed on all pieces "Giboreau à Liège" in an oval cartouche. On barrel and bell also a five petalled flower.

Playing accessories: One reed (not original) and a black string.
