Head of Osiris wearing Atef Crown

Late Period (Saite)

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 127

The god Osiris is identifiable by the tall white crown with plumes at the sides and the royal uraeus he wears as king of the afterlife.

This very beautiful head may date to the second half of Dynasty 26.
