Mummy Board of Menkheperre (C)
Third Intermediate Period
Inside the second coffin the God's Father, Priest of Amun-Re, Menkheperre, son of Fai-Mut (?) was this "mummy board." Here, Menkheperre again wears a long striated wig, but no fillet. His arms are crossed on his chest with his hands in fists above a figure of the goddess Nut with outstretched wings. Ten scenes showing the deceased adoring Osiris fill most of the top surface, both above and below his arms. The colors here are similar to those on the coffins, with figures in red, green, and black on a yellow varnished background.
