Wedjat eye with granulation and decorative wire ornament
Ptolemaic Period
This amuletic wedjat eye is a hollow construction beautifully decorated with vegetal ornament - rosettes, garlands, leaves, and tendrils. The ornament is created with granulation and various types of decorative wires. Three loops at the top would permit the wedjat to be suspended. The deformation of the left hand loop, in particular, suggests that this jewel saw a lot of use.
