Vitalba etched this image around 1780, part of a group based on Guercino drawings in the Royal Collection, with other examples made by Francesco Bartolozzi, Richard Dalton, and James Basire. The present impression was issued by John and Josiah Boydell, after they acquired a large group of plates from Richard Dalton in 1791-92.
