Plate 4 of a series of designs of bannisters for locksmiths. This plate is characterized by two designs.
The top design presents a bannister with bars crossing to form lozenges with flowers at the corners. The top and bottom of the bannister are friezes of branches.
The bottom bannister has balusters shaped like lances between lancet arches. At the bottom of the bannister is a vase.
