Plate 6 of a series of designs for doors and mantel pieces. This design presents a gate with banded rustication, four ionic pillars, four rectangular niches and a pediment. The door is rectangular and set in an archway. Over the door is a fantastical mascaron supporting a tablet. On both sides of the door are two pilasters and between them niches. In the bottom niches are statures of young women. The top niches contain vessels. The tympanum of the pediment is deocrated with shields.
