Plate 10 of a series of plates of designs of ornaments for gunmakers. This plate shows a flintlock with a stag and hunting trophies. There is also an escutcheon with an antique profile in an oval medallion at the upper left and the profile of a frizzen at the lower left. At the upper right is a butt plate with a panoply of weapons; at the lower right are two side plates with oval medallions of antique profiles.
In 1705, Simonin's first series of designs for gunsmiths was reedited with four plates of designs by De Lacollombe added. This plate was one of the added plates.
